WHAT ARE REFILLABLE SPRAY PAINT CANS?

The MTN PRO range includes a line of refillable spray cans. Three aerosols are available, which are all operative once filled with the paint you want. There are three types of products within this category: Prefill Gas, Prefill Solvent and Prefill Water Based canisters.

WHAT’S A REFILLABLE AEROSOL CAN USED FOR?

The refillable spray cans is a way to implement aerosol technology with any type of paint you like, from the exact color of your car to the precise shade you want for your home. These products can help you prepare a perfectly functional spray can for with your own paint.

REFILLING SPRAY PAINT CANS

Once you’ve understood the concept, perhaps the question that remains is how to fill a spray can of this type. These aerosols can only be filled by using a specialized service available at select paint and DIY stores, as you’ll need to use a machine designed to fill spray cans.

WHY ARE THERE 3 TYPES OF REUSABLE SPRAY PAINT CANS?

The three types of refillable spray cans which fulfill three different needs.

Prefill Gas:

A 400 ml aerosol that just contains a gas load. Considering that spray paint works with a mixture of paint, gas and solvent, this option means you’ll need to add the mixture of paint and solvent in the correct proportions to make it work properly.

Prefill Solvent:

This 400 ml aerosol comes loaded with the gas and solvent necessary for efficient operation. You just have to add the paint of your choice.

Prefill Water Based:

Similar to the Prefill Solvent, but especially prepared to apply water-based paint. In this case, the prefilled solvents and gases have the right formulation for use with water-based paint.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR PROFESSIONAL FILLING

If you have the necessary machinery to load the refillable aerosol spray can canister, you must follow the following steps: 

• Read and carefully follow the instructions of the manufacturer of the filling machine you’ll use for the filling process.


• Remove the nozzle from the product and put the machine cup on the valve.


• Fill the can with the product up to the 100 ml indicator.


• Insert the product into the packaging machine to proceed with the filling.


• Never fill a can with more than 100 ml of paint.


• Once full, shake the aerosol very well before use, for about one minute after hearing the noise of the mixing ball. Spray away the painting area until you see a uniform spray from the aerosol.


• Invert the aerosol to purge the valve after use. If the cap gets clogged, replace it with a new one. 

Never apply paint to electrical equipment that is plugged into the mains and use in well-ventilated areas. Ask for our safety data sheets.

There may be some incompatibility of the paint you add, the gas and the solvent. Two-component paints will have the life span indicated by the paint manufacturer once the mixture has been made.
