Return Frosting a window glass with style
FROSTED GLASS WITH STYLE
We had already tried the WEPRO frosted glass effect on a window, but this time we wanted to apply a slightly bolder idea.
But first—if you don’t know what frosted glass is, here’s a quick explanation.
WHAT IS FROSTED GLASS?
Have you ever seen translucent or frosted glass that blurs the shapes behind it? That’s frosted glass, and traditionally the effect is achieved with acid—an irreversible process.
ADVANTAGES OF FROSTED GLASS SPRAY
- No technical skills required to apply it.
- It’s reversible: you can remove it with solvent, although it withstands daily cleaning.
- Much less aggressive than acid.
- Very easy to apply and store.
Some might wonder… is it just matte varnish? Absolutely not! Matte varnish doesn’t create the same frosted effect on glass, it’s not as easy to remove with solvent, and it’s not specifically designed for this purpose.
THE PROJECT
Materials:
- Wrapping paper
- Masking tape
- Utility knife / cutter
- WEPRO Frosted Glass Effect
Steps:
1. Measure the glass surface you want to paint and cut the wrapping paper to the right shape and size.
2. Draw your design on the paper.
3. Cut the design with a cutter to create a stencil.
4. Fix the stencil onto the glass with masking tape and cover the areas you don’t want to paint.
5. Spray the glass with WEPRO Frosted Glass Effect. Remember to shake vigorously for one minute before use, test it on a sample surface, and once finished, spray upside down until only gas comes out to clean the nozzle.

RESULT:
This glass finishing project combines classic ornamentation with graffiti-style lettering. It’s a fascinating contrast that highlights the decorative power of graffiti aesthetics while revitalizing motifs we unconsciously associate with traditional craftsmanship.
To achieve different results, you have to try different things!
