The swing-arm lamp is probably the most universal desk lamp out there. Its design is timeless and goes with any color scheme... but we can go further and turn it into more than just a repaired object with a new look. With a fresh idea, not only can we change its appearance, but we can also give it a completely different use.

Almost any object can work as a candle holder if we use it as a platform to support candles. A lamp is no exception—but in this case, we’ll keep its essential function: to illuminate. The difference? Now it will do so with a more charming, rustic, and unique touch.

Here are the recipe steps:

INGREDIENTS:

- Desk lamp (swing-arm type)

- Candles

- Medium-grit sandpaper

- WEPRO water-based spray paint

INSTRUCTIONS:

- Lightly sand the surface to open up the pores and help the paint adhere better.

- Disassemble or cover with tape the parts you don’t want to paint.

- Apply the water-based spray paint in thin layers. If you’re not used to working with spray paint, here are a few tips.

- Let dry for a couple of hours and reassemble.
