Return Presentation of the "Fanzilona" Docuserie"Fanzilona", the original documentary series by Zosen Bandido and Krik Krak Productions (Miquel Ardèvol and Eric de Gispert) and produced by Caixaforum+, immerses us in five decades of underground culture in Barcelona, inspired by the essence of the legendary fanzines.
Its starting point is found in the fanzine "Carcelona" created by Zosen in 2010. This publication explored the countercultural scene of Barcelona between 1990 and 2010, laying the foundations for the documentary series. The transition from print to audiovisual format emerged naturally, fueled by interviews that shaped the narrative and connected the protagonists.
With eight episodes, "Fanzilona" offers an intimate look at Barcelona's alternative culture. Figures such as Javier Mariscal, Sergio Caballero, Óscar Guayabero, Itziar González, Leónidas Martín, Flavita Banana, Txarly Brow, Joni D Punto, Oriana Eliçabe, Alicia Rosselló, Paco Gabas (DJ Panko), DJ Cero, Francesc Punsola (Frank from Trepax), Metro, Nock, Inupié, Lolo or Kenor, among many others, are some of the common threads that weave this story. The series chronologically addresses topics such as underground comics, fanzines, graffiti and urban art, punk, urban music, club culture, gentrification and new generations.
The diversity and richness of Barcelona's alternative culture of the last five decades is evident in the titles of the eight episodes of "Fanzilona": Free radios, urban art, comics and punk; Break Dance, graffiti and rap; Skate, hardcore and occupation; Ska, Olympics 92, graphics and design; club, skate and hip-hop culture; Cross-bred and Alterlatino music, social movements and post-graffiti; Fòrum Barcelona, Sound System and Barcelona brand; Social Networks, gentrification and new generations.
The series not only documents the cultural past; It also brings to the table "non-legitimized culture", marginalized cultural expressions and practices that play a fundamental role in cultural identity. It raises questions about its place in an ever-changing society.
"Fanzilona" goes beyond mere documentation; raises questions about cultural diversity and its relevance in a society in transformation. It is a living testament to "non-legitimized culture" and its lasting impact on the identity of a city and its people.
"Fanzilona" had its debut at the prestigious festival specializing in TV series “Serielizados”, which has its annual event at the CCCB, garnering great acceptance. But the “official” presentation took place at B-Murals with the collaboration of Montana Colors, in what was a vibrant event with exhibitions of fanzine covers, graffiti, workshops and discussions, which included the participation of Zosen, Joni D Punto, Alicia Roselló Gené, Sutil, and other key exponents of the project.
You can see the video of the official presentation of “Fanzilona” in B-Murals made by Germán Rigol, a visual testimony of the graffiti scene in Barcelona and who has been documenting the progress of different urban writers and artists as well as events for many years. these disciplines around the world.
